100th Anniversary "The Stinger" Concept Car by Window World Headed to IndyCar® Series Race in New Hampshire

State-of-the-art concept car pays tribute to Indianapolis 500 history and raises money for deserving charities through Window World Cares

N.WILKESBORO, N.C., August 11, 2011 — Window World, Inc., the nation's largest replacement window company, will feature "The Stinger," a 2011 concept show car and tribute to the first winning Indianapolis 500 car, during the Oval IZOD IndyCar® Series at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway infield display area on August 13 and 14 in Loudon, New Hampshire. This will be the first Indy race at the speedway in more than 13 years.

The Stinger showcases the signatures of more than 155 former Indy 500 starters. Window World Cares, the charitable foundation of Window World, is making a donation for each signature received to support causes such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Veterans Airlift Command. Since 2008, Window World Cares has raised more than $2.1 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and supported 16 missions for Veterans Airlift Command and donated more than 40,000 miles.

Currently, the Stinger features the signatures of legends and drivers, including Mario Andretti, Dan Whelon, Dario Franchitti, Buddy Rice, Tom Sneva, Johnny Rutherford, Scott Dixon, Sam Schmidt and Bobby Unser. Sam Posey, a veteran racecar driver and sports journalist, signed the car on Thursday, August 11.

"The story of the Stinger is a story of hope we can tell through Window World Cares, from children and their families battling life-threatening diseases to wounded or special needs soldiers and their families who have stood up for our freedom," said Tammy Whitworth, Chairman and CEO, Window World, Inc. and co-founder, Window World Cares. "The legends of the Indianapolis 500 have served as inspiration to those who race, but it is the children and families we work with on a daily basis that inspire us to do all we can to help."

The No. 100 Stinger, developed by John Andretti, Andretti Autosport and Window World, was unveiled at the 100th Indianapolis 500 in May. It features a yellow and black color scheme taken directly from the 1911 Marmon Wasp.

"Window World is grateful to John Andretti, who envisioned the Stinger and allowed us to be a part of this exciting project," said Dana Deem, president, Window World, Inc. "Our company has been involved in motorsports for many years, and we are proud to pay tribute to Indy legends and those that make racing what it is today."
